Rachel + Andy’s winter wedding day was the perfect end to wedding season 2019. We had a wonderful day with their family and friends in the most amazing surroundings. Thanks again for having us!

“We both love Christmas and how it is a great time for families. So were extremely happy to be able to be married on the 29th of December. The big worry was always going to be the weather. It could have been freezing, raining, or snow blocked. We ended up with a gorgeous winter morning, at Wasing Park. The venue was near our hometown, and a beautifully set in the countryside with a small church on site, followed by a barn celebration.

The theme was burgundy and blue, which really helped Rachel stand out in her dress, and the deep colours showed up beautifully in the photos. The flowers by Cherubs complimented everything, creating the perfect blend of Christmas and a new years party.

The morning buildup was very smooth, Sonia spent the morning with the bridal party, subtly blending into the background whilst also capturing every moment and detail. She put everyone at ease and so we were instantly relaxed, making for fantastic photo opportunities.

The dress was created by Ladybird Bridal and purchased from Sophie Grace Bridal in Wokingham. Whilst Sonia was busy with the bridal party, Rich was busy taking photos of the venue, scene setting

photos whilst also capturing the some of the groomsman. Something that was quite important to us was for Rich and Sonia to capture key moments throughout the day, as opposed to lots of posing standing still photos looking at the camera. Rich + Sonia captured these perfectly, which meant we could look back on the day and still be in the moment, seeing how our guests enjoyed it. The guys blending in as if they were guests, and made it feel so natural.

The church service went very well, with everyone singing Silent Night as one of our carols, creating a romantic peaceful atmosphere. Our favourite time of the day was when we went out for our couple photos. It was the perfect moment to

stop and just take the day in. The fact the Rich & Sonia are also a couple, made us feel so at ease, and enjoy a stroll around the grounds. We were more than happy to trust them to find the right shots, and they managed the timing perfectly for us to get sunset over the estate, and produce photos that are truly stunning.

The celebration was full of many different highlights. Galloping Gourmet, Wasing Parks caterers created some incredibly tasty, yet stunning, meals, including a Hog roast for our evening guests. We had a surprise magician, Richard Parsons, who amazed so many guests, so much so that you would hear tables suddenly come alive with applause.

One of the most magical moments was orchestrated by Rich and Sonia. We had long burning sparklers, to get a large group shot at night. This produced beautiful photos of guests in the moment, as well as a great horseshoe of the guests with us in the middle.

Our first dance was to “How long will I love you”, by Ellie Goulding, and Rich + Sonia were able to get some great photos without intruding on the dance. The guys were happy to enjoy the party with our guests after and get further photos beyond what we expected, and really felt like they were friends of the family.”
